Engineering Project Design & implementation: Commuter Vehicle Project

There is currently great concern over pollution and road congestion which is damaging the environment, health, and is negatively impacting upon people's lives. As such, significant research is being conducted into alternative vehicles which are more fuel efficient, less polluting, and which are physically small in size.

The purpose of this project is to design an economical commuter vehicle which is road legal, which will reduce road congestion, and which will significantly reduce pollution. The vehicle does not necessarily require an engine, it could be person powered.

You are required to produce a report, written in ACM format, which details...

• The major causes of road congestion in urban areas.
• The impact of pollution produced by motorised vehicles on the environment and public health.
• Government initiatives attempting to reduce road congestion and pollution.
• A conceptual design of a new type of commuter vehicle which aims to reduce road congestion and pollution.

You must include detailed sketches of your design along with detailed explanation of your design. Remember, your design must be road legal.

Instructions: Need 1400 words. Your report must be no more than five pages in length plus another 4 pages for oversized diagrams etc. Make sure your work is fully referenced.
