Full Project Management Plan

Scenario:

You are a telecommunications project planner working for SuperFast IT company in Perth in WA. SuperFast IT recently got licensed to expand the IT business to include telecommunications. This means SuperFast IT company will be setting up a greenfield telecommunications project. The project will be an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Costruction and Commissioning) contract with all these functions executed internally by the staff and contractors of SuperFast IT company. The requirements for this project are detailed in the spreadsheet attached.

You are required to analyse the the requirements in the spreadsheet attached and design a telecommunications greenfields project. The project has an expected budget of up to $150 Million dollars. You are expected to produce a detailed project management plan of how this project will be initiated , planned, executed , monitored and closed out. It is important to fill out the attached checklist and add it to the project appendix .

Assume that there are existing duct in all metro / urban areas which can be leased/ used from other service providers and ducts for use between the major cities/ towns. The leasing arrangments of the ducts is out of the scope of this project as it will be organised by a different department.

Activity description:

In this activity, you are required to:

Analyse the given information and given documentation and apply engineering principles to design a new telecommunications network as an employee of SuperFastIT Company working in the Project Management Office. You are expected to meet the needs of your stakeholders.

Your proposed network design must meet the design requirements outlined , it must be realistic , feasible and future-proof. The solution must be submitted as a project management plan and a presentation made on your proposed solution. The plan must be detailed and include all the relevant costing and recommendation. If changes are recommended there must be clear justification on why the changes should be made to the network based on engineering principles.

Super Fast IT is a company that strongly values "Zero-Harm" and as such all their projects must be planned and executed with Work , Health and Safety in mind. All Telecoms projects/ deployment are bound by the relevant legislation and the links are included below. The project must comply with all the legislation.
