ASSIGNMENT - Design and/Or critique a questionnaire

Assessment Task 1: Design and critique a questionnaire
The aim of this exercise is to practice designing questions for a specific purpose. Design a short self-completion questionnaire (at least 6, not more than 10 questions) for student evaluation of undergraduate modules in social sciences. Discuss the following aspects of your design
a) the purpose of the evaluation (what/who is the data being collected for and what are the ‘hypotheses'?)
b) your choice of format for questions (likely to include more than one type of question)
c) the wording of questions (clarity, length, terminology, avoiding double or leading questions)
d) the order of the questions
e) types of coding
Conduct a small-scale pilot of your questions and explain whether or not you would modify them in the light of your experience.

Assessment Task 2: Critique a Questionnaire

Choose an existing questionnaire used in official statistics or published research and provide a critique of a selection of questions (not more than 10 questions and avoid demographic questions) based on the following aspects:
a) the purpose of the evaluation (what/who is the data being collected for and what are the ‘hypotheses'?)
b) your choice of format for questions (likely to include more than one type of question)
c) the wording of questions (clarity, length, terminology, avoiding double or leading questions)
d) the order of the questions
e) types of coding
Conduct a small-scale pilot of the existing questions and explain whether or not you would modify them in the light of that experience.
Note: you are not required to collect data except for the purpose of piloting the questions
