Design a shell-and-tube type power condenser for a 250 MW(e) coal-fired power station. Steam enters the turbine at 500°C and 4 MPa. The thermodynamic efficiency of the turbine is 0.85. Assume that the condenser pressure is 10 kPa. Cooling water for the operation is available at 15°C. Assume a laminar film condensation on the shell side.
