Assignment -
You are to research light aircraft propeller design, and design a 1600cc, 4 Cylinder BOXER engine suitable for a light aircraft: with a propeller, (overall length of 2metres).
The resultant design should have a minimum of: propeller, crank case, crank shaft, con rod assembly, gudgeon pin, piston, Piston rings, cylinders cylinder heads, valves and important threaded fasteners.
The Design Report should include:
1. Solid models of all the component parts. (.sldprt files) 30
2. Assembly with correct mates, (.sldasm file) 10
3. Animation of movement of model 10
4. Create an exploded assembly (.slddrw) identifying all parts with a 'bill of materials' 10
5. Identify a minimum of 5 fits between assembled parts, using ISO standards. 10
6. Create 2D drawings (.slddrw) component parts with critical dimensions/tolerances 10
7. Design report should include description of each part and research to include:
- use,
- material properties,
- using knowledge from Engineering Practice and your research, your thoughts on possible manufacturing methods,
- thoughts on why the parts have the features shown

All parts, assemblies and drawings must be created on Solidworks Student edition 2018.
