Residential Air Conditioning Design (Limit: 1,000 words)

Design a duct air conditioning system for a house. The design should include:

1. Draw a simple plan of a house with at least three bedrooms to be air conditioned with a duct air conditioning system. On the house plan, show the orientation, room dimensions and ceiling height.

2. Determine the required cooling capacity for the house specifying the indoor and outdoor conditions.

3. Select a suitable ducted air conditioning system that will have sufficient capacity for the application and determine its input power. You may need more than one system.

4. On the house plan show the position of both the fan coil unit and the condensing unit.

You are encouraged to use sketches, photos, tables, or figures to illustrate your points.
