Cover page:Cover page should contain the title of your report, total word counts, each group member's name and their student ID.
Executive summary: Your executive summary should provide readers with a quick snapshot of the full report without having to read it all. It should be summarised in such a way that readers can quickly become familiar with the identified research problem/issue; methods/evidence used to analyse the identified problem, key findings and recommendations. Your executive summary should be written either in the past tense or present tense keeping around 250 words as it is usually prepared after completion of the report.
Table of contents:Table of contents should accommodate the following sections below:
1. Introduction: Your introduction should tell readers about the background of your report, purpose or objective, methods/evidence to be used to investigate the identified HR problem(s) and importance of your study in light of practical implications. It should foreshadowyour readersabout what they are going to have in the body of your report with potential limitations if any.
1.1 Company/industry background: A brief background of your chosen companyabout the type of business it is doing, how many employees it has, and organisational structure/design, etc.. You are allowed to withhold the name of your company if you wish to maintain privacy, in that case, just use ‘ABC company'. In your reference list, just use ‘ABC company' to maintainsuch anonymity.
2. Research Problem/issue:Identify an HR related problem being experienced by your chosen organisation/companyconsidering the observable or measurable symptoms. Describe the problem, as much as possible in terms of the observable or measurable symptoms it manifests, for example, high absenteeism, high employee turnover, workplace bullying/harassment, biased recruitment and selection process, vague performance appraisal process, the decline in employee performance, workplace diversity etc. You would be aware of an HRproblem/ issue either from the internal documents of the organisation being an employee of the organisation or from the company website, media releases, newspaper reportsetc. which would provide you with evidence to substantiate your claim of an HR problem that exists in your chosen organisation/industry.
3. Analysis of potential causes of the problem: The identified HR problem should be analysedusing HR related data/ concepts/models/theories mostly drawn from this course unit.To justify the potential causes of the HR problem, you are required to use HR related theories, concepts from the textbook andfrom any relevant journal articles, HR industry reports, HR magazinesalong with any internal or external organisational data, if any such exits. At least two potential causes shouldbe identified, analysed and organised as follows-
