An electrical power plant has stack gases exhausting at 150 degree C. Design a basic Rankine cycle that uses water, refrigerant-134a or ammonia as the working fluid and that produces the maximum amount of work from this energy source, while rejecting heat to the ambient air at 40 degree C. Is the 150 degree C the exit temperature after the boiler? And is the 40 degree C the exit temperature after the Turbine?
