Design 2-shell pass and 8-tube pass heat exchanger for heating ethyl alcohol from 25°C to 70°C at a rate of 2.9 kg/s. Water is available at 95°C can cool down to 45°C.

The ½ inch ANSI schedule 40 standard steel copper tubes are to be used for the construction of heat exchanger. Need to determine number of tube passes based on heat transfer area. Based on heat transfer area get suitable length and diameter of the heat exchanger (length/Diameter > 2).
