Case: We have begun the process of studying the scientific method and the contribution this method has made to the field of Psychology. While the scientific method includes strictly controlled methods, it also includes ways to test hypotheses by means of questionnaires, case studies, and naturalistic observation.

One of the most notable naturalistic observers was Jane Goodall who watched, and at times, lived with African chimpanzees for 50 years. Naturalistic Observation pg. 54) is a "descriptive technique of observing and recording behavior in naturally occurring situations without trying to manipulate and control the situation."

Your assignment involves just that; observing something in its natural environment. Your assignment is:

Choose something to observe; a person, a group of people, another animal species, etc.
Describe in detail the participants and situation you are observing.
Include the length of time you perform your observation.
Be descriptive!
Include a Conclusion section where you discuss your observation. Your thoughts about what was happening during your observation and why you think it happened that way.
