Consider a company will build a 500-kW power plant to supply electricity to an industry in KSA (or in your country of choice). This power plant is fueled on renewable energy sources (e.g., solar or wind or hydro etc.). This industry has 24 hours electricity demand. The demand is variable over the hours of the day. The peak demand is 400 kW (6am-11pm) and off-peak demand is 200 kW (11pm-6am). Renewable energy is available over 8 hours only in a day (based on your choice).
This company appoints you as an energy consultant to design this power plant and energy storage system to enable serving uninterrupted electricity to the industry.
You should propose an energy storage system to enable continuous power supply to meet the demands for all the 24 hours a day.
Please prepare a project report for this power plant and storage system.
Your report should contain:
1) Introduction to an industry and its electricity demand profile
2) Descriptions of power plant and its power supply profile
3) Descriptions of energy storage system and its capacity
4) Supply and demand matching for all 24 hours in a day (use excel or similar spread sheet) to show demand and supply.
