Upon seeing your third show this semester, you will write a 750-word (minimum) essay (three pages double-spaced) describing your experience. The essay should include all of the following information:

1. An explanation of how/why you chose this particular production on this particular day. (Please remember that play titles should be in italics!)
2. A description of the theatre space when you first walked in (lobby, audience seating area, anything immediately noteworthy about the stage)
3. A description of at least two significant moments from the performance: one from the technical side of the production, and one from the performance side. These do not include plot details, but a description of two moments that occurred in the performance that you found especially interesting, moving or challenging. For the first, reflect on the use of design elements to communicate the story or theme of the production. For the second, focus should be given to the work of the actors - describe specific things that the actors did in these moments to make these moments significant for you. If you thought the acting was good, explain why and how. What did the actors do with their bodies and voices in order to make these moments work? How did they create strong relationships with other characters onstage? Be specific.
4. A concluding statement about what the live theatrical event was like for you, including some analysis of how this live theatrical experience differs from other recorded entertainment (such as film, television, etc.)
