On the basis of the PPI history description you have read in the beginning of this week and the description of the Stargate project, help Charlie answer Suzanne's concerns by describing the solutions that PPI could employ to mitigate the concerns that Suzanne has raised.

Specifically, do the following:

  • Identify the main features of interest to PPI in an SOA solution.
  • Describe two business services currently provided by PPI that could be implemented as SOA services in the Stargate project and what technology could be used to implement them.
  • Examine the effects of SOA adoption on the communication between PPI and its business partners.
  • Identify the challenges that PPI would face in implementing an SOA approach to building software.
  • In your opinion, what is the most difficult challenge for PPI in its transition to SOA? Why?
