Assignment:
1: Discuss and analyse the responsibilities and possibilities of social work with respect to internationally related social problems at individual, structural and society level.
You should select an internationally related social problem(Human Trafficking) and then discuss and analyse based on the course literature and your own selection of additional readings (see section on course literature). An internationally related social problem can be related to the global interconnectedness of social systems and involves causes and consequences that extend beyond borders (see for instance Hugman, 2010; Cox & Pawar, 2013). This means that you should focus on a social problem where it is important to connect local conditions/occurrences to global situations. You can for instance choose to focus on poverty, trafficking, substance abuse or forced labour.
It is possible to structure the essay in different ways. Here is an example of how it can be structured:
1. Introduction and background with a description of the social problem and how it is internationally related in terms of individuals, organisations and society.
2. Responsibilities and possibilities of social work. How can and should social workers and the profession of social work be involved in addressing this international problem? please include accurate in-text citations.
3. Discussion/Conclusion
4. References
5. One thousand five hundred words
