Assignment:

For the following assignment, you are asked to develop an instructional design document that reflects the integration of instructional media into an instructional design that supports your organization's education or training strategy. Your Instructional Design Document must discuss your organization's training or education strategy for a selected learning environment. Since organizations have diverse learning needs based upon their learners, curriculum, course objectives, etc., select either a K-12, higher education, corporate/business, or military or government learning environment that best represents the organization for which you are developing an instructional media plan. You should identify, describe, and evaluate a different instructional medium that could be used to support your organization's instructional media plan.

The Instructional Design Document should include the following:

1. A description of the selected learning environment and your population of learners (e.g., K-12 students or adult learners)
2. Explanation of whether the learning environment is primarily synchronous, asynchronous, or a combination of both
3. Accessibility issues, such as geographic location (i.e., dispersion of students)
4. Infrastructure to support technology (e.g., administrative, help desk, information systems dept., and so on)
5. Technological constraints that could affect access (e.g., bandwidth issues, hardware/software limitations, cost, and so on)
6. Instructional issues (e.g., learning objectives, interactivity, instructional strategies, cognitive learning strategies, complexity of content, rate of content change, and so on)
7. Evaluation of instructional media mix, including selection criteria used
8. Description of the most appropriate medium or combination of media used to support your organization's instructional media plan based on the above criteria
9. Description of how you will evaluate the implementation success.
