Assignment - Internship Manual
I. Assessment Details - The student's first report should be in English and generally cover the following:
- A description of the internship organization.
- The type of work it does.
- The size of its employees and its organizational structure.
- Information about the department / functional area the student is trained in.
- The department / functional area structure.
- The training plan and methodology.
- The work progress (activities) of the intern up to that date.
- The problems faced, and solutions suggested.
- The work to be done in the time remaining (due after completing 30 hours).
- General conclusion.
- The future work.
The student's final report should be in English with details that covers the following:
How the training plan is covered.
Description of the conducted activities and the procedures workflows.
Evidences about the conducted activities.
A systematic view of how the activities are done (input, processing, output, and feedback).
How the academic experience meets with the real life job experience.
Analysis of workplace dynamics as well as problems that the internship organization is facing or an area of improvement that the student identified.
With the approval of the internship organization the student must study the issue and propose recommendations or solutions.
The report should also reflect the interest of the student in the job taken and his/her strengths and weaknesses identified during the internship.
The power point presentation should address the problems or the areas of improvement mentioned above.
The site supervisor's report should cover the conduct of the intern, his/her attendance, professionalism, respect of work environment, ability to establish network and his ability to employ academic knowledge to his/her practical tasks.
Student's portfolio should contain all documents and information that are related to the tasks taken by the student. It should contain the course description and any correspondences between the student and the site supervisor or the Internship Coordinator. It should also contain the company profile, student's resume and copies of the two student's reports.
