Whether it was technology, art, architecture, or poetry, Modernism sought to reinvent the world. The Modernist era redefined America's political, religious, economic, and social values. Modernism was a time of social upheaval, extraordinary growth, and accelerated change for America.

This description of the historical Modernist era actually sounds like it could be a description of our present times.
