Part A: Write a description of how something from the material fits with something outside of class. This could be an application of a concept from class to the media (e.g., a television show, a movie, a website, or a song about your own life, the life of someone you know, or something you have learned in another class. You need to fully explain each side of the application. So, you need to fully explain the concept that you are applying and then fully explain how a specific example from outside of class illustrates that concept. Be sure that your example is specific. This section needs to be one paragraph in length. The most common mistake that people make is to just discuss something that they find interesting or important or to summarize something from the reading. That is not an application at all. You need to be sure that you have a specific example from outside of class and that it clearly illustrates a concept from the class material.
