Assignment - Muscle vibration and muscle function
1. Write a short paragraph that lists which muscles are important for vertical jumping (see p. 111 of the textbook), describes what a muscle spindle is (p. 225 of the textbook) and explains what the flexion reflex is (see chapter 15).
2. Provide threebar charts of flexibility, peak power and jump height, before and after muscle vibration. Make sure that there is adequate labelling and a legend that indicates what each bar represents.
3. Provide a written description of your results (in the chart). Describe in words whether there are differences in each measure (flexibility, peak power and jump height) pre and post the muscle vibration treatment.
4. Provide answers to the following questions, writing several sentences for each.a. State clearly whether you think there is an effect of muscle vibration on flexibility and jumping performance.b. Whatever your conclusion is, try to explain why there was or wasn't any effect.c. Compare your results to this article (it is ok to read the abstract only)

The most important muscles required for vertical jump is knee extension and hip extension. It is found that Knee extension will have simultaneous movement along with hip extension in a vertical jump. The quadriceps femoris is the muscle which used in knee extension and this muscle will be broken into four muscles of the anterior thigh, namely Rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius, and vastus medialis. The knee extension and hip extension, both in combination activate the quadriceps. Normally, the hip extension will work when we move our thigh towards the stomach and when we straighten our leg, and then the knee extension will occur. In order to gain more strengths for both knee extension and hip extension, we should do squat exercise
