Purpose of Evaluation (Jacob)
What is the purpose of the evaluation? What questions will the evaluation answer? Think of the interests of the key stakeholders. (If using Kirkpatrick's logic model approach, then describe the answers that the four levels provide: level 1-participants' reactions to the program, level 2-participants' learning, level 3-participants' behavior or learning transfer to the intended context, and level 4-results of the program.)
Are our hiring principles conducive to inspiring diverse applicants. Are our operations conducive to safe environments for diverse employees. Are our operations equitable for those in need. Are our staff trained to be inclusive.
Given the software and web development industry tends to skew towards a specific demographic. DEI is important to the software industry because of how many international team members are involved (think developers in India or South America) who deserve to feel safe and included. Also, allowing a space more inclusive of women feeling comfortable and confident applying to roles that are 'traditionally' thought of as male dominated. Such as having a "Dev Ops" guy. Or another "girl" who can do design.
Generally in the industry, gender "norms" assume that developers are guys, and designers are women. And the industry should be more inclusive and equitable. Among other things, those are a few thoughts to consider regarding why it's valuable for a software agency like GRAYBOX to create training programs for DEI. So we want to evaluate their training programs to ensure that they are effective in achieving their desired goals.

Please preface this with an evaluation question that will be answered when this level 2 evaluation is implemented.
