Research your local area (e.g., metropolitan area, county, city, etc.) to identify the adult populations there. Consider demographics, socioeconomics, cultural backgrounds, education levels, etc. as part of your search. Select four adult population groups in your area. Conduct a needs assessment to analyze the top three adult education and training needs for each adult population group.

  • Describe your geographical area and community.
  • Describe the characteristics of each of the four selected adult population groups.
  • Address the following for each adult population group:
    • Explain the results of the needs assessment, including the top three adult education and training needs. Consider these questions: Who are these individuals and what education and training would benefit them? How are the needs of each group unique?
    • Explain the economic barriers to success for each of the four selected populations.
    • Describe an adult education and training strategy that addresses the characteristics, needs assessment, and economic barriers for each population. You will have four unique populations, so you will want to include four separate training strategies.
