1. Last time you were given a scenario in which you were asked to imagine yourself in a large lecture hall having a difficult time hearing your professor during a lecture because you were sitting in the back of the room where other students were chatting and watching Netflix loudly on their laptops.

2. Image NOW you've moved up to the front of the lecture hall so that you can better hear and pay attention to your professor. However, your professor is still TALKING FAST, and there are no slides being visually presented to you - so, you are frantically going back and forth between (1) writing down notes as accurately as you can and (2) looking up to listen to your professor. At the end of class you say to yourself, "Eww... I am SOOO exhausted right now, and my head is about to explode!"

3. Describe what was going on for your Working Memory (WM) in this taxing imaginary scenario involving constant note-taking AND listening attentively! Use Baddeley & Hitch's (1974) model of WM to account for any and all components that may have been involved in your in-class experience in the scenario, and use the cognitive language you have developed to describe HOW those components were likely working.
