Further, describe which therapy would have the most effective approach (and why).

• humanistic and person-centered therapy
• cognitive behavioral therapy
• acceptance and mindfulness therapy
• psychopharmacology

3. Describe which therapy would have the most effective approach (and why).
Case #1.
Daniel felt his life was complex. He would often complain and had an irritable mood most of the time. He even suffered from occasional attacks in which his heart pounds with irregular beats; he felt as if he couldn't catch his breath when this would happen. He always felt like his mouth was dry after an ‘attack', despite drinking a lot of water. Even worse, because of this anxiety, he couldn't get any sleep, which put him in a cycle of always being tired and anxious.
Case #2.
Lily is a graduate student in English. Every time she has to stand up to give a presentation over her research, she is terrified. Although highly knowledgeable and competent, her heart still pounds heavily and her mouth gets dry.
Case #3.
Patrick was a firefighter assisting people during the 9/11 terrorist attack. It's been six months since the event took place, but Patrick still wakes up from his nightmares in cold sweats, breathing heavily. He often struggles to fall back asleep, despite feeling exhausted. Paul has been working as usual, but finds that he will hesitate right before getting to work.
Case #4.
Janet was driving her daughter to school last week when she witnessed a major car pile-up on the road. She was so shaken up, but her primary concern was her child. For the last week, she had almost intrusive recollections of the event. It often bothers her, but she is considering seeking treatment if it doesn't stop soon.
