Experimental Design

Design and conduct an experiment based on one of the topic below. Use either a student sample or people you know (family/friends). Develop your own measures for each variable.

You will turn in a report describing the experiment. You will include:

1. A hypothesis.

2. Methodology
- Explain whether you used different types of groups (control, experimental, placebo)
- Did you use a pretest?
- How you controlled for extraneous variables (variables that can influence the results)
- Describe which experimental research design you used.

3. The results.

4. Implications of the results

This report is due Monday June 19.

An experiment was conducted with the purpose of knowing which age group has the most powerful memory. A flash card test was used for this and the participants varied from the age of 10 to 80. After the flash cards were shown, the participants were told to write from their memory the number of items they remembered from the cards. The number of correct answers was recorded.
