If we add 100 ul of 0.5 mg/ml ConA and 100 ul of 1 M mannose to 800 ul of a dilute suspension of red blood cells in ConA buffer, what should we expect to happen? Explain why we expect to see these results. (Describe what is happening at the cellular and/or molecular level rather than what you actually see with your naked eye. Don't fret too much over the numbers either; the important thing to realize is that there's a lot of ConA present and a lot of mannose present along with RBCs.)
