The Case Study involves examining and writing up an issue in entertainment around a particular company and/or brand such as remarketing The Pink Panther franchise or the Oscar Awards diversity controversy. One current issue is controversy around the FBI wanting Apple to write a software program enabling the FBI to generate computer passwords on an iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino terrorist shooter without the phone destroying the encrypted information. This is a marketing issue for Apple because it can market the iPhone as a secure device, particularly overseas where consumers are worried about governments invading their privacy.

Pick a company such as Netflix or Apple but zero in on a particular product and brand like the iPhone or a celebrity who has experienced some ups and downs.

Another recent example is the hacking of Sony Pictures Entertainment in connection with "The Interview" film.

You do NOT need to choose a cartoon figure like the Pink Panther.

Identify a problem (s)

Describe way company understood the problem, i.e., research, and proceeded to correct it. You will have to do some research and include your references (at least two) in the case study.

You will use the objectives and targeting used in a creative brief to identify primary segments used by a company in its marketing or remarketing efforts
