Topic - Living Arrangements and Well-being: Emotional, Social, Physical, and Financial
Directions - As we have learned so far, well-being is very much connected with one's living arrangement. Below, you will provide two examples one might find in each of the three age categories. Be sure to cite supportive research within the document. 150-200 words for each age category should serve as a guide. You may type within the document or create a separate document. A minimum of three outside sources are required, which may include your textbook. Follow the format below to complete this (you may type directly in the worksheet but be sure to delete my examples in red). You may use the examples for one of your choices in each age range.
1. Describe TWO different common living arrangements for emerging or young adults (approximately 18-35). Describe how each of the living arrangements chosen might affect the emotional, social, physical, and financial well-being for an emerging adult.
Example for this age range: Living with two college roommates
Emotional: Possible stressors might include....
Social: Social benefits? Privacy issues?
Physical: Likely to work out? Eat healthfully? Risk for substance abuse?
Financial: Saving money on rent, utilities, etc.
2. Describe TWO different common living arrangements for middle-aged adults (approximately 35-55). Describe how each of the living arrangements chosen might affect the emotional, social, physical, and financial well-being for mid-adulthood.
Example: Living with and caring for a sick parent
Emotional: Stress? Risk for depression? Benefits?
Social: Social isolation?
Physical: Likely to exercise? Eat healthfully? Risks for disease?
Financial: Cost vs. placing in home.
3. Describe TWO different common living arrangements for older adults (over 60). Describe how each of the living arrangements chosen might affect the emotional, social, physical, and financial well-being for late-adulthood.
Example: Nursing Home
Emotional: Research relating to emotional impact
Social: More or less socialization? What types?
Physical: Discuss caretakers
Financial: Discuss cost monthly cost
4. Reflection:
