Assignment:

Respond to this post: I believe that civil discourse is the freedom to discuss a topic, in a respectful manner, issues from multiple perspectives. I believe it is the ability to discuss different means of understanding a topic while respecting each other and building a bridge of understanding. In one of the articles, On Social Media Platforms, who's in charge?, the author describes Top-Down moderation, and how society can gain from being uncensored and open to different ideas (Free Speech on Social Media: How We Should Navigate It, 2024). My question is how does the ability to debate a view occur when there is not mutual respect from both sides- that remains the challenge in today's society.
