SCENARIO: The Ontario Government has come up with additional funding grants for new community sport organizations. Grants will be allotted to those organizations that fulfill one of the goals of Canadian Sport for Life. As a young leader in sport, you have decided to start your own sport organization and vie for one of these newly established grants. You are being tasked to design and develop your very own original organization. Using the outline below, you will provide pertinent details regarding the structure and function of your organization. You will be competing against a variety of other sport organizations to be one of those that receives provincial funding.

  • Organization Classification (level and category): The organization's level is Canadian Sport Centres and Institutes.
  • Vision, Mission, Values: 1) Vision: To promote and provide equal opportunities to all team players of all ages by enhancing the experience through training. 2) Mission: To promote equity and equality in the Sports sector of Canada by allocating resources accordingly as they nurture their talents. 3) Values: To provide quality services to all team members through cooperation and integrity to achieve their best at all times.
  • Organizational Target Market: The consumers with interest in the basketball game in the communities and cities.
  • Target stage(s) of LTAD Model: The active start, The Fundamental stage, The Learn to train stage, The Train stage, The Train to Compete for stage, The Train to win the stage and The Active for Life the final stage.
  • Role and Responsibilities of the overall organization: To design a friendly atmosphere for all players to explore their talents fully. To allocate resources fairly according to each player's level of need. To motivate the players in different ways, such as rewarding them accordingly or doing team-building.

Organizational Rationale.

  • Considering your background research of other organizations, present a rationale for why you have outlined the organization you are proposing: The importance of starting the Young Basketball Club of Canada includes providing opportunities to young people interested in playing basketball in the country. To be able to unite the youths together through games. To be able to promote a healthy lifestyle for the youth through exercise.
