3. You have been approached, as an HRM Manager, to design a selection process for managerial positions in a medium sized high-tech firm that faces intense competition on a daily basis. The company has traditionally relied only on informal interviews to select candidates. They are concerned about the high turnover of managerial employees and have employed you to professionalise and formalise the recruitment, selection and induction processes.

(a)Identify the various stakeholders involved in the process and discuss how you would involve them in the design and testing of the new policies and procedures?

(b)How would you obtain support for the new policies and procedures regarding recruitment, selection and induction?

(C)Discuss how you would determine the future human resources needs of the firm in collaboration with relevant departmental managers? You should give an example to support your answer.

(d) What training and support you would provide to a new line manager responsible for recruiting, selecting and inducting staff? List at least 3 training methods you would choose to ensure the line manager gets access to training

(e) How would you ensure the latest versions of the position descriptions and person specifications are used for the process?

(f) Do you think it is justifiable to use specialists for the managerial positions? WHY?

4. List three technological options that can improve the overall effectiveness of the recruitment, selection and induction process? Provide examples as appropriate

5. Which communication methods will you use to ensure compliance with legislative requirements as well as changes in policies and procedures?

6. A job applicant complained that he was not made aware of the outcome of his job interview and his many phone calls and emails to the HR department was left unanswered. Discuss how you would ensure that processes for advising applicants of selection outcome are followed?
