1. Select twenty of the species you identified. Make sure that these twenty species represent at least two kingdoms and at least six different phylum.2. Create a dichotomous key for 10 species. In your dichotomous key, use the proper vocabulary that we have learned this term.3. Select a particular phylum from your data collection sheet, research your chosen group about the following:
Part A
a. The basic biology of the group: describe the unifying characteristics of the phylum. Include a description of its life cycle.b. The diversity of the phylum: Describe the estimated number of species, the range of ecosystem they inhabit, and the diversity of characteristics within the phylum. c. The roles of the species in your chosen phylum in supporting ecosystems. Describe the ways in which other species are dependent on them.
Part B
d. Use the internet to assess the current status of your phylum. Do all species within the phylum have healthy populations, or are some or all of them at risk?
Note: the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species is the most comprehensive global database for this information.
e. Describe threats to species of the phylum.
Part C
f. Find our what actions are being taken by organizations to help protect the phylum or individual species.g. Evaluate these actions. Are they effective? Can these organizations have a significant long-term impact on the future of the group?
