Assignment: For this assignment I would like you to answer the following questions:
1. Compare the atmospheres of Mercury, Venus, and Mars to Earth in terms of what specific gases they are made of, their thickness, and how the atmosphere affects the surface temperature. Make sure to describe all four planets. (5 pts)
2. Describe some of the surface features and large scale topographical features of Mercury, Venus, and Mars explain how they relate to what we see on Earth and/or the Moon. Be sure to give specific examples along with the names of the topographical features. (5 pts)
3. Describe the volcanic activity on Mercury, Venus, and Mars and compare them to what we see on Earth and/or the Moon. Don't just say each one has volcanoes--Be sure to give specific examples along with the names of any volcanoes and any other relevant surface features created by volcanic activity (5 pts)
4. Describe what the crust, mantle, and core are the terrestrial planets are made of along with their state of matter. Give some information about how much volume these layers take up on each planet. For the planet Earth make sure to indicate what state of matter each layer is (solid, semi-solid, liquid, etc)
Bonus: Explain what caused the atmosphere of Mars and Venus to be so different from Earth's
