Please keep in mind who your audience is....me, a sociologist, who is interested in how well you understand and can use sociology to describe/explain the US stratification system. You should demonstrate your understanding by trying your best to "talk like a sociologist." You must address in your essay, a basic understanding of the US stratification system, must address the various arenas of inequality, the impact of inequality on life chances, responses to inequality, and policies you support (and why) that address inequality and stratification.

As you provide your sociological description, you'll need to provide evidence or observations of examples of what you discuss. In other words, you won't be able to just paraphrase your text and notes, you'll need to provide real life examples of what you are writing about.
