Assignment:

Mrs. J is 84 years old and requires a hip replacement. She has COPD, high blood pressure, and anxiety. She has been experiencing increasing hip pain over the last few years and she was recently seen by a specialist who decided to perform a hip replacement. Mrs. J will arrive at the hospital the day before the surgery for some assessments related to her other medical conditions. She will have the surgery the next day and then stay in the hospital for about 6 days before hopefully returning home with assistance.
