Overview

In these research assignments, you will be conducting a small-scale case study of attitudes and beliefs about a topic related to human sexuality. You will eventually interview/survey at least 5 people (friends, parents, peers, random sample).

Through your ongoing research, you will try to answer the following questions:
• Describe your research methodology and your sample.
• What are the biological, social, cultural, and/or technological factors influencing your topic today?
• How do attitudes & knowledge about this topic differ from person to person, and why might that be? How have attitudes or knowledge about this topic changed over time?
• What are some possible solutions to the problems that were discussed?
• What insights did your interview subjects share that contradicted or confirmed your previous assumptions about this topic?

RA 1: Research a topic

Choose a topic to analyze throughout these assignments. Research your topic, and find 5 peer-reviewed, scholarly resources. Describe the topic you are interested in researching (500 words). What do you want to learn about when you analyze this topic? What did you find out while researching this topic?

Requirements

This assignment is split up into sections. In total, your submission needs to be 500 words minimum (not including the references page). This response should be professional (grammatically correct, contains structured sentences, etc.).

Introduction

Introduce the topic, your goals with your case study, and the importance of addressing this topic. Is there a particular subset of people who are most affected by this? Why and how are people affected by this phenomenon? What are the consequences, if this phenomenon is not addressed? What about this topic has not been researched enough?

Background

Include some background information, statistics, and theoretical frameworks that are relevant to the issue. Make sure sources are cited appropriately (use whichever citation style you are comfortable with).
