Content: What to include in your paper:
1.) Discuss "Woman Seated in a Chair" by Picasso, painted in 1941.
Describe the subject of the painting, the theme, the period when it was painted. Then continue by giving a subjective evaluation of the painting. What is the story of the painting and what is the painter trying to tell the viewer? Did you like it? If so, what did you like about it (BE SPECIFIC)? If you did not like it, explain in detail what bothered you about it. How did it relate to your initial expectations from slides you have seen in class? Did it surprise you in any way? Did what you have learned in this class add to your experience?
2.) Go Contemporary Gallery, first floor and choose ANY PAINTING OF SCULPTURE.

What is the story of the piece you have chosen, what was the artist trying to tell the viewer? Did you like it? If so, what did you like about it (BE SPECIFIC)? Try to find one aspect of it that you found particularly interesting/repellant/beautiful/strange and explain why you had that reaction. Did what you have learned in this class add to your experience?
