Let's discuss personal change, organizational change and resistance!

A. Take the Holmes-Rahe Readjustment Rating Scale and score yourself in terms of events that have happened to you or someone close to you in the last 12 months. Where are you in terms of your chance of developing a stress related illness? Discuss two or three personal resilience builders that you could use to reduce your stress.

B. Describe the seven stages of personal change and identify at least two steps that you have demonstrated in response to past change. Discuss how you exhibited the steps and how you were able to move on.

C. Identify a specific change you have been confronted with recently and apply Helmstetter's six steps for dealing with change. Identify each stage and then discuss how you navigated each step from 1 - 5.

D. Pick your favorite model of organizational change and explain why you prefer it to other models.

E. Then, discuss employee resistance to change. Discuss at least two reasons you or someone you know resisted change.

F. Last, discuss the five main elements of kaizen. Can the kaizen model of change work in U.S. companies? Why or why not?
