Why I wish to become a radiographer
The reason why I want to become a radiographer is that I care to help people in different meaningful ways. Radiography, which means using medical imaging to diagnose illnesses has always fascinated me. This is beyond mere fascination as the idea of saving people's lives and bringing positive impacts into their lives brings more satisfaction. Furthermore, radiography is faced with challenges and variety of solutions each day that will motivate me to grow and learn and that is what I need in this ever-evolving field. This journey has a spark of curiosity that goes to a dedicated pursuit. Radiography is not just a career for me as I want to go beyond by making a difference in people's lives.
While the other radiography programs exist, the CCBC Radiography program stands out in several ways. First CCBC has a good reputation in producing well-equipped radiographers. This speaks volumes as it shows that the program equips them with the required knowledge and skills to thrive in this field. Additionally, the program curriculum stands out as it includes well-rounded aspects in the education ensuring that there is nothing left out in impacting the knowledge to the radiographers. Furthermore, the program provides radiographers with real-life experiences in medical settings to ensure that they apply what they have learned in class (Malone 58). Finally, the CCBC program has been given accreditation meaning that it has the high standards that have been set by the industry and this encourages confidence in choosing it.
My exploration to the field of medical imaging has been enlightening. Through literature, I have been able to know the latest advancements in emerging technologies and evolving trends in healthcare. Through scholarly articles, conferences and attending seminars, I have been able to understand the perspective of applications and implications of medical imaging in healthcare (Hyde and Hardy 11). Networking with radiographers and understanding their day-to-day experiences and challenges has made me want to pursue this career path more and more. Volunteering in medical facilities has also helped me gain first-hand experience through the radiographers and experience the reality of this career path.
Professional ethics are fundamental as I aspire to be a radiographer and they are not just rules to follow. They are core values that will guide me in how I want to practice radiography. By ethics I mean values like dignity, caring for others, and keeping the private information of patients safe. As radiographers, it is their responsibility to handle with care the sensitive information of patients despite cultural differences.
The CCBC program learning outcomes affect the success in this field. The two that resonate with me are: Demonstrating competencies in performing radiographic procedures by using imaging- This outcome shows the importance of mastering different types of imaging to ensure there is adaptability and versatility in medical institutions. Radiographers should be proficient in x-rays, fluoroscopy, and other modalities to cater to the diverse patients' needs (Callaway). Demonstrating professional behavior and ethics-CCBC program emphasizes ethics such as communicating, treating patients with empathy and respect, and protecting the sensitive medical data of patients. Professionalism means being punctuality, clear communication and appropriate appearance. Upholding ethical issues such as honesty embraces the aspect of positive professional behaviors. As radiography is an ever-evolving field, radiographers should show commitment to education to ensure that they stay up to date with new technologies and practices.

I. Describe the reasons you wish to become a Radiographer; everyone puts because they want to help people and make a difference. How will you do that? Give examples of what piqued your interest, elaborate on your volunteering, have you had xrays yourself, what did other radiographers tell you about the profession.
II. Describe your reason for selecting CCBC Radiography Program over other radiography programs; I didn't see you name or elaborate on what other programs are out there and why you didn't pick them. Why CCBC, what is it specifically about us that you chose us over others. Research the Hopkins, AA community College, PG Community College, and Fortis programs.
III. Describe your research into the field of medical imaging, besides this course; elaborate on articles that you read, what conferences did you attend, what did you learn there? Have you explored you tube vides, what did you learn. What does a radiographer do in a days work that has you interested.
IV. Describe what professional ethics means to you; elaborate more, details, examples.
