Topic: Pregnancy and Childbirth after the age of 35 and up
Section 1: Background Information/Statement of Problem: describe the problem based on national statistics utilizing the Healthy People 2030 and other national statistic sources. This section is to describe the national and larger scope of the problem without a bias towards specific demographics of the population. Describe how big the problem is and what the repercussions on society are for your topic. ONLY .gov, .org, .edu will be accepted for data sources.
Section 2: Justification of Need: State and Local Needs Assessment: will describe the state and local needs for this program based on local data on your topic. For this section you will use data sources from Florida, these may include FLHealthCharts, County Health Rankings, FYSAS, YRBS, 211, local hospitals, etc. to begin breaking down the problem at smaller levels in the state and county of choice as compared to the nation. County must be in Florida, Duval recommended.
ection 3: Implications to Specific Populations
Based on the reviewed statistics from national, state, and local resources, indicate a specific population by sociodemographic (i.e., geographic location, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age group, etc.) with the greatest need for this type of program. You may use the same sources of data from sections 1 & 2 to back this up.
4:Evidence-Based Intervention Review
For this section you will review at minimum six (6) peer-reviewed journal articles on your topic and summarize common themes about what interventions (or programs) have worked in previous research to address the health issue or the risk factors as noted in section 3. If possible, find programs which directly have impacted the sub-populations you found to be most at risk of negative outcomes.
Section 5: Recommendations and Project Description (Half-page minimum)
In this section you will be drawing conclusions and making recommendations based on all of the previous sections to create a project description that is backed by your research. Here you will describe what you think needs to be done and what you will do based on the data and your review of the literature. You must include references and citations from previous sections to complete this section. Think of this as your conclusion as to why you will create this project (program) and your first chance to describe what you plan to do.
