Overview
The final project for this course is an intervention plan with recommendations for the treatment of a child/adolescent who has been affected by the legal system and now is showing signs of a mental and/or behavioral disorder. The final product requires students to fully define and operationalize a treatment intervention plan.
The finished product will incorporate the application of theories and concepts taught in the course to substantiate the following criteria:
1. An examination of the factors that would specifically affect treatment in the case (familial, environmental, etc.)
2. A substantiated evaluation of various treatment options outlining their appropriateness
3. A recommendation of one or more intervention strategies with justification as to why they selected the one(s) that they did
4. An evaluation of potential ethical issues that should be considered or guarded against and how their plan does so
The project is divided into five milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Two, Three, Four, Six and Ten.

In Task 2-3, submit an overview of your intervention plan. The overview should include a brief description of a potential treatment plan for a diagnosis of your choosing that details a child/adolescent that was influenced by the legal system and is now showing signs of a mental and/or behavior disorder.. The paper should briefly explore ethical considerations when deciding the best therapeutic interventions to implement, such as individual or family therapy. This assignment should be submitted in the form of a 1-2 page paper.
Milestone Two: Outside Factors and Effective Treatment

While the quantity of resources is not what ensures a successful treatment plan, it is necessary in order to provide a solid research foundation for your treatment plan. The format should be a 3 to 4 page paper. This milestone is graded separately using the Milestone Three Rubric.
Milestone Four: Ethical Issues
In Task 6-2, evaluate potential ethical issues that should be considered or guarded against explaining how the ethical issues have been addressed appropriately in a detailed plan. The format will be a 2 to 3 page paper.
Final Submission: Intervention Plan
In Task 10-2 you will submit your final Intervention Plan. It should be a complete, polished artifact containing all of the critical elements of the final product. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course.
