For this discussion:
Use your specific grade level's ELA standards:
Choose 1-2 standards that will be addressed in your comprehension lesson plan
Next, create a specific, observable, and measurable learning objective you plan to use in your lesson (see example below).
Discuss what assessment(s) you might use during and after instruction to evaluate whether or not your students meet your objectives.
Example:
Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.5 Describe the overall structure of a story, including describing how the beginning introduces the story and the ending concludes the action.
Objective: Students will describe important events of a story with 80% accuracy.
Assessment: Students will complete a story map outlining the major events of the story. By using a story map, this graphic organizer will help me determine whether or not my students are making progress on our objective. The objective is derived directly from the standards, so I know the alignment is pretty clear.
