You are working in homecare and your client is 36-year-old Amanda. She has end stage (terminal) cancer and stopped her chemotherapy treatments when she discovered she was pregnant. Since the birth of her son 4 months ago, she has been taking some strong medications to keep her comfortable. Due to the medications, she is not able to breastfeed her baby. Besides the 4-month-old infant, Amanda has a 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son. Her husband, Danny helps out when he can but also works full-time to pay the bills. Your CCA duties include providing personal care to Amanda when she is too weak and tired to move as well as assist with the care of the infant. The older children are still attending school so you only see them when they come home at 3:00 pm every day or on the weekends when you occasionally pick up an additional shift. The following questions relate to this scenario.
