Chapter 6, "Bar Coding: It's Hard to Kill a Hippo" (pp. 65-68) is to investigate the process by which a hospital in Sweden adopted a bar code system. The method was designed to make it easier to keep track of patients as well as the treatments and medications they are receiving. The case study investigates the difficulties encountered by the hospital in the process of installing the new system as well as the positive responses received from the medical staff regarding their utilization of the new technology.
