Describe the main features of Cognitive Behavioural Theory.

Introduce Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis in relation to this counselling approach. The key features must be identified, 'irrational beliefs' you need to state what the term means, this is the same for each concept.

Concepts to include: irrational beliefs, negative automatic thoughts, faulty thinking (with examples) the ABC model, Socratic questioning, coping self-statement, cost-benefit analysis, goal setting.
