Homework: Understanding Leisure Motivation Analysis Essay
Introduction
Part 1 (Leisure Activity Log) of this homework was intended to assist students in gaining self-awareness of their own leisure lifestyle though tracking leisure participation behaviors over a 7-day period. Part 2 (Leisure Motivation Analysis) of this homework guides students to explore and reflect upon the various types of leisure motivations behind their actions using Neulinger's Paradigm theory (pg. 65 of textbook).Please read all directions before you begin.
Directions
Each state of mind in Neulinger's Paradigm is determined by levels of perceived freedom and intrinsic motivation. Based on which boxes you checked for each of your activity log entries in part I; Assign each entry to the matching state of mind. Refer to the textbook on pages 65-66 for more information of each State of Mind definition. Each entry from your activity log should match only one of the States of Mind below.

I. Present your responses in cohesive paragraphs, omitting the questions.
II. Ensure your document is formatted with double spacing throughout.
III. Demonstrate thorough consideration and elaboration, integrating insights from external sources alongside your own interpretations.
IV. Adhere to the guidelines stipulated by APA 7th edition formatting for student papers, including proper citations and a reference list for all utilized resources.
V. Note that submission of the motivation chart is unnecessary, as it serves solely as a worksheet for this homework.
Task
I. Discuss your results: how many occurrences did you have for each State of Mind? Describe the leisure activity that took place and your level of perceived freedom & intrinsic motivation. Address each state of mind. If you did not have an activity for a state of mind(s) state there were no activities
II. Based on which state of mind you had the most occurrences for, do you agree/disagree that it correctly reflects your primary leisure motivation? Refer to the definitions within the textbook for reference. Why or why not?
III. Compare the differences in your responses/reactions to the leisure activities you completed in State of Mind 1, 2, or 3 vs the responses to leisure activities that were in States of Mind 4, 5 or 6.
IV. Have you observed any barriers to leisure? What are they?
V. For the following prompts, refer to the leisure activities that in that evoked a Pure Leisure State of Mind (State of Mind One)?
