The good that I use on a daily basis is my SUV. It is a Dodge Journey with a 2.4 liter engine, it can seat up to seven individuals and gets about 32 miles to the gallon the the highway. I use it mainly to get around the city, to pick up groceries, to get to the doctor, see family etc. The inputs that go into the vehicle are gasoline that gives the engine combustion, oil that lubes the engine and gears so the motor works and transmission oil the keeps the gears for grinding and locking up. The outputs are the exhaust for the gas, the smell of rubber for the tires and brake dust in the air. The automotive supply chain includes multitude of suppliers or manufacturers with many assembly operations and a number of dealerships. Customer demand for varied specific configurations and features add to the high level of response needed from automobile supply chains. The quality of measurement is labor hours divided by the inputs that have be put into the vehicle. Meaning that if I take care of the vehicle it will continue to work.
