Social Media Usage

This study will define which social media are used most widely by college students and other adults. Social media to be considered may include Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Attitudes toward social media choices will be explored and evaluated. This project can be framed as a company making choices of which social media sites to use given the cognitive, affective, and cognitive attitudes of adult users of social media.

  1. Describe the general nature of the business problem(s).
  2. Describe the major areas of opportunity. What could the organization accomplish if it knew how to address the business problem(s)? What major research questions need to be answered in order to sufficiently address those problems/opportunities?
  3. Write the research objectives intended to address each one of the previously addressed problems. These will be the primary objectives that guide the design of research, the analysis of data gathered, and the writing of the market research report for the client. Students may revise their objectives as they work further on the research project.
  1. Cognitive attitude - What the person thinks or believes about the person, place, or thing being studied.
  2. Affective attitude - What the person feels (what emotions are triggered) about the person, place, or thing being studied.
  3. Conative attitude - What the person intends to pursue about the person, place, or thing being studied.
