In the New Testament, the idea of restoration is a big theme, showing how God is making everything new again. In 2 Corinthians 5:16-17, Paul talks about how when we become a new creation in Christ our old ways and mistakes are gone. He explains that "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" This means that through Jesus, people can start fresh. This new creation is a part of God's plan to restore and heal us making us whole again.
Revelation 21 describes the final restoration. It talks about a vision where God will create a new heaven and a new earth, completely free from pain, suffering, and death. This vision shows a future where everything is made perfect again. God promises that He will live among people and there will be no more sadness or suffering. This gives us hope that one day, God will fix everything that's wrong in the world and make everything new.
Both passages show how God's plan is to heal and restore to build a future where everything is set right and full of peace and joy. The restoration in 2 Corinthians is about personal change and becoming new through Christ, while in Revelation, it's about the entire world being renewed and made perfect.
