Write a brief paper (two to three pages, but not more than four pages) addressing the following topic. Be sure to discuss the topic in detail and cite any works that you use.

The first step is to locate an article on a professional public servant who is accused or convicted of an ethical issue violation or indiscretion.

There was likely an ethical dilemma where the person decided to do one thing and not another that landed them into trouble. Some ideas on where to look for your article are listed below:

News media sources
Social Media information released by an agency or official source
Court records
Any other official source

The second step is to briefly describe the situation, the ethical issue and dilemma. Consider the options that were open to the person and the ramifications of each option that you consider.

The third step is to consider if the person should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen, either due to their position, authority that they wield power, ability to vote on the issue or make a ruling about the issue.

Finally, explain what your opinion is about the situation. Would you have acted the same way, or would you have taken a different approach than the public servant did?
