A. Describe the culture and demographics of a student population that is different from your personal experience, with enough detail to inform your assignment creation in part B.
My personal experience is a successful and thriving school in a rural environment with a majority of Mexican Hispanics so it needs to be different culture and demographics for this question.
The checklist I need to by for part A is
Did you choose a particular city/town (real or imagined) with a student population? You can consider the entire student population, a certain district or a particular school.
Did you include at least 2 pieces of information on the demographics of the student population (ethnicity, enrollment, average grades, family involvement, attendance/dropout rates, % of IEPs, % of reduced/free lunch, etc)?
Did you provide at least 2 pieces of information on the culture of the student population and/or city/town (bullying, teacher attitudes, student expectations for the future, gangs, crime, socio-economic status, urban/suburban/rural, main industries, education level of parents, the standard of living, etc)?
B. Invent statistics assignment that is culturally relevant to the student population described in part A. 1. Explain how your culturally relevant assignment from part B will produce in-depth learning experiences for these students
The checklist for part B I need to go by is
Did you invent a statistics assignment? Typically an assignment should have more than 1 question or a single question with several related parts.
Is the assignment you created relevant/meaningful to the population you described above?
Did you explain why your assignment produces a better understanding of statistics? Explain why your assignment is meaningful to your student population.
There is no data for this assignment. It needs to be made up for this assignment.
